Always say this: VAERS reports are voluntary. Counts are reporting, not incidence. Disproportionate reporting is a hypothesis, not evidence of causation.

The vaccine field is the VAERS VAX_NAME string, stored as `drug` in the table. Pass it as vaccine=. drug= is the same parameter. If both are set they must be identical. Do not invent a second drug field.

When to call which format:
- Default / omit format: JSON list of (vaccine, event) pairs. Use for search.
- format=series: quarterly n / EB05 / EB50 / EB95 / PRR / ROR / IC for one pair (the highest peak EB05 if several match). Prefer vaccine AND event.
- format=profile: compact JSON object with n_pairs and the returned pairs. vaccine=, event=, or both.
- format=class: other products of the same vaccine type (COVID19 products together). Requires vaccine= or q=. Add event= to keep that event.
- format=brief: copyable markdown. Prefer this when the user wants something to paste.
- format=csv: a spreadsheet of the same rows.
- format=label and format=pdf are not on this API. They return HTTP 400 with an allowed list. Do not retry them. Do not invent an FDA label, a novelty flag, or a PDF.
- An unrecognised format= value returns HTTP 400. Use one of: json, csv, series, profile, brief, class.

Read n and eb05. n is the sum of quarterly observed counts. The quarters are rolling windows, so n is not a count of unique reports. Do not quote n as a distinct-report count. n_unique is not in this extract. eb05 is the peak quarterly EB05, the same number as Peak EB05 in the human app. eb05_peak_pre2021 is the highest quarterly EB05 before 2021Q1. peak_in_covid_era marks a non-COVID-19 vaccine whose series peak falls in 2021Q1–2022Q4. ewma_eb05 is a different column. Do not treat them as the same number.

Do not invent NCT ids. This API is not ClinicalTrials.gov. Do not invent numbers. If the list is empty, say the pair was not in the flagged set. Unknown names return HTTP 200 and an empty list. A missing vaccine and event and q returns HTTP 400. Queries shorter than 3 characters return HTTP 400 unless they are an exact vaccine or event name.
